Ha! I had to read the title again before I got the 4Chan reference.
Thanks for the heads up; I watched that great show a few years ago and forgot the name of the island they visited.
(BTW, I just ordered Apollo's Song and MW; I'd gotten Ode to Kirihito from my library recently and I loved it to death)
The last paragraph, about the death of Googoo, adds an extra note of poignancy and urgency. (Also an extra link to AzuDai, in that Maaya's mother was killed by a car and this is mentioned to be a leading cause of death among yamapikarya.)
